Does God have a name and if so, is it unspeakable? Is the English name Jesus derived from the Greek really the correct name for the Hebrew Messiah?
Todd D. Bennett explores thousands of years of religious customs and traditions which have hidden, suppressed and even altered the Name of the Almighty One described within the Christian and Hebrew Scriptures. This well researched study provides ample support for the fact that the Name of the Almighty can not only be known, but that it should be declared throughout the World. You will also see that Christianity, as well as society at large, has been Hellenized to such an extent that the name of the Messiah, as well as many important individuals throughout history, have actually been changed!
Investigate all of the available evidence for yourself which caused the author to question and alter his own beliefs. This work will challenge you to question the various teachings and doctrines which have been transmitted and inherited concerning the critical issue of Names. You will be shown the errors which have been perpetrated throughout the millennia and be amazed at the truths contained in this concise yet thoroughly researched work. Prepare yourself for the adventure of a lifetime as you begin to . . . Walk in the Light!

Names The Father the Son and the Importance of Names in the Scriptures Walk in the Light Series Book 2 eBook Todd Bennett Reviews
This is a great book to open your eyes to the names in scripture and their meaning. We have been so wrong, there is no J in the Hebrew language so we don't have the name of our Messiah right. Very eye opening.
I believe that the church has made a mistake by omitting the names of our Creator that are presented in the Bible and has chosen common names for Him, such as god and Lord. I suggest that all Christians read this book.
The author argues the point that we should use the name YHWH and Yahushua in our worship and prayer. I agree to a point. We should hold reverence for the name of God. However if someone truly calls on God I truly believe He will answer even if you don't call Him YHWH. So check out the book and see what you think.
I order this because I thought it was additional information on the names of GOD which I was getting for friends. When I realized that it wasn't, I was going to return it. That's when I read it. It is 'sacred name' abracadabra.
The author states that if his name, Todd, was translated in any other language that it would be Todd. With this logic, he then says that should apply with Jesus' name as well which his conclusion is that it should be Yahshua (which he says in so many words that Yahshua is a better translation than Yeshua). He trying to state that by using Todd, that when a Chinese pronounces Todd, it'll have the same meaning and have the same pronunciation. This is just fallacious logic. Here's why, if you take the name Michael (which is in the bible) and translate into other languages (I know multiple languages) is it still Michael? Yes, but does it sound/pronounced like how we pronounce Michael? No, it sounds different. So it
doesn't change the meaning. The meaning stays the same but the pronunciation of the name changes.
So then he goes on to say the Messiah's name has been Hellenized and that Iēsous is essentially Hellenized. First, the Septuagint, uses Iēsous in areas of translation for the word Yeshua (Salvation). Now for those who don't know what the Greek Septuagint is, it is the translation of the Old Testament into Greek sometime before Jesus walked. 70 (some say 72) of the most noted Rabbis of the time came together to make a translation of the Old Testament into Greek hence were Septuagint (which means 70) came from. Paul (the Apostle) used the Septuagint far more when quoting from the Old Testament. Probably all by memory. He then would use HIS own translation of the text on a few occasion and on even rarer occasions he used the Masoretic text. The Masoretic text is the text that most Old Testaments are based on.
Why did I bring up the Septuagint and its use of Iēsous ? The translators obviously knew Hebrew and Greek. When trying to translate the Hebrew letter sh (shin) they used Sigma in place. Why did they do this? Because this letter was not available to them and Sigma was the best fit. I am saying all that to say this it would be like in Hebrew the first and second letters are Aleph (Alpha in Greek) and Bet (Beta in Greek) and we can translate that to our A and our B and in fact that is where the word Alpha-Bet (the first and Second Letters of the Greek Alphabet) comes from. Now when we come to the eight letter of the Hebrew alphabet, Chet, there is no letter equivalent for this in English.
I am not saying that some things haven't been Hellenized, what I am saying that this isn't one of the cases. Unless when you are using term Hellenized you just mean translated into Greek which is not what the author means when using the word Hellenized. He essentially is saying that it has been Paganized.
If you are looking for stimulating books on the Hebraic roots please, get any book by Brad Young or Dan Juster.
If you interested in Philosophy, then please get any book by Alvin Plantinga, JP Moreland, or William Lane Craig.
Finally, if you want more non-sense that is similar to what is in the book and at times I felt some of it was very close to it, then please read Lew Whites 'Fossilized Custom'. Which is a book full of bunk and ripe picked Cherry-Picking.
I opened this book along side my copy of the KJV. I looked up every scripture reference and did a bunch of research attempting to find some error in Mr. Bennett's book "Names". I found none.
This little book contains a lot of life changing and enlightening information. I will never be the same.
Thank you brother Todd.
This book is part of the "Walk in the Light" series, although each book was written to be a stand alone book.
The Introduction gives Mr. Bennett's background and some history about the Name of the Creator.A quote from the Intro-"My goal is to strip away the layers of tradition which many of us have inherited and get to the core of the faith which is described in the Scriptures commonly called 'the Bible' ."
The author details the removal of the Name from Scripture and why that's a violation of Scripture.
He also shows examples of altering the name in some English translations. There is information about names like "Christ" or "Christos Helios", their meaning and origin.
Mr. Bennett uses the encyclopedia to show what commonly known names like "Lord" and"God" really mean and where these words came from.
He discusses the subject of why The Name is important and how that relates to the "blasphemy" that Messiah was charged with.
Mr. Bennett covers the name "Yeshua" and what the Talmud says about "Yeshua".
A quote from the book regarding mistranslations in English Bibles-"It's a well known fact that certain names in early compilations of Scripture were altered or hellenized."
This book has simple, clear explanation of the difference between translation and transliteration and their importance, particularly with English translations of Scripture.
Mr.Bennett has written a well researched book with very helpful notes and numerous Scripture quotes. His basic use of Hebrew helps explain Scriptural names. I highly recommend this book to anyone that wants to study The Name and why it's so important to know what it is.
